NIH CIDR Program

Free Option

Genotyping and sequencing are free to investigators with extramural projects supported by one of the participating NIH Institutes. The CIDR facility is supported directly by NIH according to a funding formula and set pricing schedule. Institutes pay an annual base fee as well as a per sample fee for projects. Prices cover all costs including labor, reagents, sample pretesting, 5% positive controls, experimental failure repeats and indirect costs (IDC) to JHU. These prices are for institutional reference only and not fee-for-service.

We make every effort to present standard NIH program costs, but in some instances it is possible a lower price could be negotiated for a particular project. Please inquire if you have specific questions about pricing for a project.
