Sequencing: Sample Requirements

All projects, regardless of access pathway, follow the sample requirements listed below.
We request more DNA than is required for a single, study experiment using manual processing for the following reasons:
- use of robotics in all sample processing
- pretesting of samples (for most service options) with a SNP fingerprint assay
- redo of any failed pretesting or study experiment a second time
Optimal results are obtained with high molecular weight genomic DNA. The higher end of the concentration range is recommended for optimal performance for downstream copy number analysis.
Sequencing* | Minimum # Experimental Samples | DNA Volume (µl) | DNA Concentration (ng/µl) |
---|---|---|---|
Whole Exome or Custom Targeted | Not Applicable | 30 | 25 |
Whole Genome Short Read (PCR-free) | Not Applicable | 50 | 25 |
Whole Genome Long Read | Not Applicable | 180 | 85 |
* Requirements are for genomic DNA. DNA should be sent in 1XTE, pH 8.0 (10mMTris, 1mM EDTA). Do not use water. Blood, cell line, saliva or FFPE DNA sources are accepted. Please inquire for FFPE requirements. Saliva and FFPE have additional costs. See the pricing page.
